In mid-March T.J. Taylor said he was ready to narrow his list of schools and come up with a future destination. A month later, Taylor is off the board.
Jeff Capel and the Oklahoma
Sooners targeted T.J. Taylor
and the effort paid off, as the combo guard made a commitment early Tuesday.
"I feel its the best spot for me," Taylor told Scout.com. "Coach Capel was a guard just like me and I feel he can help me develop my game to the best of my ability."
Taylor, a 6-foot-3, 195-pounder, averaged 26 points per game during his junior season at Denison (Tex.) High.
Taylor took a handful of trips to Oklahoma and built a strong relationship with Capel, which led him picking the Sooners over Arizona State, Texas, Marquette and Texas A&M.
Taylor is Oklahoma's first commitment for the 2010 class.
