Dennis Pulls Trigger; Will Stay in Texas

Nolan Dennis had a number of schools in mind when he received his release from Memphis, and it didn't take long for him to make his pick.

The recruiting game works fast. Nolan Dennis was released from Memphis two weeks ago. Now The 6-foot-5, 180-pound wing is headed to Waco (Tex.) to play for Scott Drew and the Baylor Bears.

As soon as Dennis picked up his release the Bears were in the picture. The Richland Hills (Tex.) Richland standout said style of play was a factor, and he feels that Baylor fits his game.

"It came down to the style of play for one," Dennis said. "The loyalty that Baylor had and they've been recruiting me since the eighth grade, that's when they gave me a scholarship."

But style of play wasn't the only factor. Dennis said he and coach Drew hit it off from the beginning.

"I have a great bond with the coaches," he said. "I bonded with the team and the coaches have always been there from day one and it's been the head coach, coach Drew. I just feel like it's the perfect fit."

"I don't know how many years we've been talking and I've seen him all the time and he would come to Richland all the time," Dennis added. "We just kicked it off from there."

This time around Dennis, a four-star prospect, also considered Connecticut, Texas A&M and Oklahoma.
