Stith To Play In Big East

Malik Stith, one of the top available point guards, reunited with a program he knew well. The former North Carolina state champion will play in the Big East.

The St. John's Red Storm took the circuitous route but have added the point guard they targeted last fall. Malik Stith, a 5-foot-11 point guard out of Bridgton Academy committed to St. John's.

Stith was excited to reconnect with the Red Storm. "I feel like this is a great place to be successful," Stith said. "I feel I can only help an already veteran team coming into next year's season. I'll learn a lot but at the same time establish myself that I can play with anybody in the country."

Stith captured a state championship while at East Mecklenburg. He ventured north for a post graduate season. After not signing with St. John's early, Stith and the Red Storm kept in contact and finally reunited on Tuesday.
