Clarke Lands At Drake

Mark Phelps and the Drake Bulldogs own a commitment from Jordan Clarke, a transfer from Vermont.

The Drake Bulldogs recently added a transfer from Good Counsel High School by way of the Vermont Catamounts. Jordan Clarke, a 6-foot-7 forward, committed to play for Mark Phelps this week.

"I committed to Drake and I'm feeling so good about being a Bulldog," Clarke said. "I went on the visit during the Drake Relays and Coach Phelps is great. The coaching staff is tremendous. The Valley is a big time conference and it's a good academic school so I couldn't go wrong."

Clarke averaged two points and played in 22 games last season. Clarke sees his role in Des Moines as diverse.

"I think beyond basketball I think I bring a certain level of toughness and leadership to a team. I think that'll help a lot. In terms of basketball I think I can score at all three levels and at the same time I can use my size and strength to go inside and post up. On the defensive end, I've learned I can guard a two through a five."
