Johnson Looking At Five Schools

Alexander Johnson doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to make a permanent move with his recruitment. Johnson is one of the top unsigned players in the nation and because of that he can certainly afford to take his time in deciding.

Five Schools In The Mix

Last year, Alexander Johnson was a hot commodity. He was the centerpiece of an SEC recruiting duel that involved the likes of Alabama and Georgia. Johnson didn't qualify academically but did sign with Georgia. Now, he's looking at five schools.

Johnson matriculated to Bridgton Academy where he's been a standout. Right now, he's interested in Indiana, Georgia, Oklahoma, Connecticut and Alabama. "I don't have a leader now; I'm waiting on my test score." Johnson took the standardized test in December.

The Bulldogs are on the list for the second time around and the hometown team is a factor. "I haven't lost any interest in Georgia." One school he did seem to lose some interest in was Cincinnati. "They were in there early but they backed off. Then, I kind of backed off of them."

Johnson has a few basic requirements in selecting his school. "The coach," the power forward said. "I want to see the past and how he is on the floor. I want a hard coach who knows how to work."

Speaking of work, Johnson load should decrease some with the addition of Lamont Hamilton. The center was left without a school when Milford Academy closed down its hoops program. "We should be alright. I hope he helps so that I can't get double-teamed anymore."
