Junior SF Ty Morrison
Ty Morrison, 6-6 JR SF Phoenix (Ariz.) Trevor Browne, told us yesterday that he's hearing from a number of schools across the country, including Georgetown, UNLV, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, San Diego and Arizona St. He said no schools have emerged yet as leaders. Morrison has several factors that he'll consider when making his decision. "Education, the graduation rate and just how I fit in," said Morrison. "Early playing time isn't a real big deal." Morrison indicated that he would like to play at the highest level possible. "I want to play for a big-time program," said Morrison. Location doesn't figure to be an issue when he makes his choice. "That won't matter at all," said Morrison. "I'm just looking for the best situation, wherever it is." Morrison said that his family feels the same way and there's no pressure to stay close to home. It doesn't sound as if there will be an early decision from Morrison. "I'm going to take my time, take some trips," said Morrison. "I want to see what it's like at the different schools. A big thing will be the players – I don't like to be around negative people." Morrison told us that he's averaging 16 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks a game. He said he has a 2.4 GPA and he'll take the SAT in April.
