Chaney Goes With Virginia Tech

A former Top 100 prospect decided to transfer out of Florida on this week he picked his future destination.

Allan Chaney needed a change.

So the 6-foot-9, 235-pound post prospect opted to transfer out of Florida. This week he made a decision to head to Virginia Tech.

"I loved the school," Chaney told Scout.com. "It's closer to home and I really like the coaches. Also Malcolm Delaney is my boy so he played a part in that also. I feel like I can fit well there."

Chaney, who is originally from New London (Conn.) High, also considered Temple and St. Joseph. He said Seth Greenberg built a relationship with him and his mother and that helped seal the deal.

"He is a cool guy," Chaney said. "My mom likes him also. I think we are pretty cool, and he' funny too."

Due to transfer rules, Chaney will be forced to sit out this coming season, but will be eligible for the 2010-2011 season for the Hokies.
