Alexander Headed To Big 12

Daniel Alexander is going to play his college basketball in the state of Texas. The 2010 forward is Big 12 bound.

The Texas A&M Aggies added a young man with a big time stroke. Daniel Alexander, a 6-foot-8 forward out of Dripping Springs (Tex.) High is headed to the Big 12 where he'll play for the Texas A&M Aggies.

"What Daniel told me was the style of the play and the opportunity to play early," Texas Ambassadors coach Max Ivany said. "He got along extremely well with Coach Turgeon and Coach Walker."

Alexander cemented his national reputation as a big man with tremendous range. He's a legit behind the 3-point. Numerous Big 12 teams were in the mix with Arizona and UCLA peeking at him. It sounds like the Aggies fully intend to take advantage of his stroke.

"They're looking at him as a face up perimeter guy," Ivany said. "He may be tall but the perimeter skills are what set him apart. Their style and the opportunity to play early were big. I think he's going to be a pro."
