Interest Coming In For Daniels

Among the top underclassmen at the Pangos All-American Camp this past weekend was DeAndre Daniels. We caught up with the talented forward to get an update on his situation.

Last year was tough for 2011 prospect DeAndre Daniels.

The 6-foot-7, 195-pound combo forward was forced to watch from the sidelines at Woodland Hills (Calif.) due to transfer rules. But the time away from the court has Daniels motivated for next season.

"I can't wait till next year," Daniels told "We have a really good team and we should compete for a championship."

"It was tough for me," he continued. "I just had to fight through it and my coach Derrick Taylor has talked to me about it and just told me to keep working hard and it'll all pay off."

Daniels wasn't the only guy at Taft that couldn't play last season. Bryce Jones, a 2010 prospect, had to sit out for the same reason.

On the recruiting front, Daniels already claims scholarship offers from Texas, USC, Rhode Island and UNLV. To go with the offers, he has a handful of other schools knocking down his door.

"Recruiting is going good," Daniels said. "I have Texas, Memphis, Kentucky, UNLV, Washington, USC, Wake Forest, Rhode Island and Ohio State."
