Elijah Macon, 2012, Makes Decision

Elijah Macon, a freshman power forward out of Columbus, Ohio, is going to play his college basketball in the Big East. After a campus visit, the 2012 big man made a decision.

Rising sophomore (2012) Elijah Macon didn't know what going to happen at West Virginia's elite camp this weekend. There was no master plan or hint of an offer going into camp. However, after getting a scholarship offer from Bob Huggins, the 6-foot-7 power forward couldn't resist the Mountaineers.

"We played and did drills and through that time I was talking to the coaches and getting a feel to see if that was a college that I could go to," Macon said.

"I was surprised (they offered). Assistant coach Harris walked up to me and told me that he was going to pull me aside. He talked to Coach Huggs and they said they were going to offer me. I told him I'd think about it and I'd call him and I called him when I got him."

Macon started last season for Columbus (Ohio) Marion Franklin where he averaged 10 points a game.

He's the Mountaineers first pledge from the Class of 2012.
