Evan Harris Looking West
We spoke with Evan Harris, 6-6 JR PF North Hollywood (Calif.) Harvard-Westlake, recently and he told us that he's interested in Stanford, Oregon, Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine. "I like the weather out here -- I'm not into the cold," said Harris. "So I'd probably like to stay in the west or someplace where it's warm." Harris, who has grown a bit in the last year, projects to a mid-major level at this point. However, if he continues to grow, it's certainly possible he could go higher. Harris told us that Loyola Marymount was at a recent game when Harvard-Westlake took on Mission League rival Loyola. He said he also saw Oregon and Stanford at games over the summer. Academics are a big priority with Harris. "I'll be looking at academics mainly when I choose a school," said Harris. "That's the biggest issue." Harris went on to say that playing time isn't an overriding factor. "I'd like to play some," said Harris. "But I won't be looking at early time as a big issue. I would like to play at the highest level possible though." Look for a fairly early decision from Harris. "I want to take some trips," said Harris. "But I want to get it done early, before next season."
