"I'm starting to get a feel for [my recruitment," Sampson said. "I want to make a decision towards the end of my junior season.
"I talked to Ohio State and I'm going to go down there," Sampson said. "I'm going to go down to Xavier too."
Clearly off the court things are picking up for Sampson. On the court his game is developing, as he's in the midst of moving from the post to the perimeter.
"It's a transition I'm trying to make," Sampson said. "I always play on the wing during AAU. I just had to play big for my high school team."
Despite playing in the post more than he would have liked, Sampson still had a solid high school season.
"It went good," Sampson said about his sophomore season. "I started off coming off the bench and towards the third game I started the rest of the season. Then when went down to state and won that."
"I think I played good," he added. "I had to take on a different role. Normally I don't play like a big man, but I had to take that role."
Sampson averaged 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocks per game during his sophomore campaign.
For much of the spring Sampson played for the King James Shooting Stars 16's group. In July he'll move up to the 17's. Orlando is among the many places they'll be playing at during the month.
