Barnes scored 14 and had four boards and Richmond finished with 8 and two boards. Richmond shot it well in the first half while Barnes drove and went into attack mode in the second.
Will Barton, SG: Sometimes you shake your head because there's little explanation for how a guy with his skinny frame can be such a gifted finishes with contact. "I'm wiry strong," Barton claimed. "Wiry strong through my whole body." He had a "wiry strong" 12-point game and was one of the early session stars.
Fab Melo, C: On a bum ankle, Melo gave a truly impressive effort. He's not in the best shape yet but the raw materials are all there and he's a hustler. He faced once, mixed in a baby hook and he'll come out as one of the better post passers here.
Andre Dawkins, SG: For a while it looked like he was the only guy that got out of bed on the right side. In the first half he showed the arsenal: athletic dunk, mid-range, 3-pointer and traffic rebound. Finished with 17.
Cory Joseph, PG: His team was down 14 before they kicked it in and rallied for the 10-point win. Joseph's silky smooth jumpshot was a rally starter. Doron Lamb, a noted winning guy, tossed in a few and the comeback "W" was in the books.
Patric Young, C: Beast. The ultimate lunchpail guy. Loved his approach as he cleaned up in traffic, went up with authority and if they can just get him the ball more he'll produce as needed. He's a long term stock who which is kind of scary given how he's playing right now. He took one of the day's only charges.
