It's Official, Stephenson To Cincinnati

It's taken a considerable amount of time, but Lance Stephenson is finally a committed man. He'll play in the Big East.

On the court Mick Cronin received a significant boost to their 2009 recruiting class on Tuesday with the addition of Lance Stephenson.

"We are very excited about Lance's decision to become a Bearcat," said Cronin. "Lance has terrific talent as a basketball player, and is also a fierce competitor on the court. His desire to win will help us compete for a BIG EAST Championship.

Stephenson, a standout at Brooklyn (N.Y.) Lincoln, has had his fair share of off the court issues recently, but on it, it's hard to question the McDonald's All-American's talent.

"As a big guard, Lance brings playmaking ability and versatility to our team, along with his talent for scoring," Cronin said. "We look forward to getting Lance here for summer school and building our team for the upcoming season."

The addition of Stephenson changes the outlook of the Bearcats upcoming season, as they now add an impressive scorer with a group of talented guys in Yancy Gates, Deonta Vaughn and Cashmere Wright.

Sean Kilpatrick, also a native of New York, joins Stephenson to make up Mick Cronin's two man recruiting class.
