High-Scoring Berry Ends Process

Jesse Berry is the owner of a pair of 50-point games as a junior. On Wednesday, he made his commitment to an Atlantic 10 power.

Brian Gregory is looking to replenish his backcourt and on Wednesday added a very good second piece of the puzzle. Joining Juwan Staten (Scout.com No. 54) is 6-foot-1 Lafayette (Ind.) Jefferson scoring ace Jesse Berry.

Berry fielded interest from programs all over the country including Kentucky, Cincinnati and Arizona and had offers from Ball State, Butler and New Mexico. Dayton, however, had his ear the entire time.

"I felt like I had a good relationship with the coaches," Berry said. "I met all the players and Dayton is the best fit for me. That's where I want to go. I've been to campus and everything. It's not too big, not too small."

Staten aided in the recruitment of Berry. The pair knows each other well, Berry said, and they're ready to do damage in the Atlantic 10. "Me and Juwan, we've been playing against each other all our lives. We're pretty good friends and instead of playing against each other we'll play with each other."
