Brust, Big Ten A Match

Ben Brust was so excited to announce his commitment. "I don't know what to do with myself. I'm going to go lift weights." An excited Brust made a commitment Wednesday afternoon to a Big Ten program.

"I'm excited, I'm a Hawkeye now," shooting guard Ben Brust of Mundelein High told Scout.com. "Even though I've had to make these calls to coaches that I've had a good relationship with, after calling them I still feel like I'm on top of the world because I made my decision to go to Iowa."

Brust, who missed a good portion of last season with an injury, selected the Hawkeyes after staring down Butler, Stanford (application pending) and Northwestern. The Hawkeyes offered something no one else could.

"It's the Big Ten, I wanted to play against the best."

Brust developed a kinship with Todd Lickliter. "I really enjoyed talking to him and seeing his vision. He knows what it takes to win and now he's got the core guys in his program and he's building. I want to be a part of it, and hopefully a big part."
