SEC School Snags Derenbecker

Just as his stock was heating up, Matt Derenbecker decided to end his recruitment. He made a pledge on Thursday.

There weren't many guys that improved their stock as much as Metairie (La.) Park Country Day standout Matt Derenbecker did at the Nike Peach Jam this past week.

Derenbecker's reputation was building and a number of college programs were set to try and get in the mix. Now they can't, as the 6-foot-5, 185-pound wing committed to LSU, according to sources close to the situation.

Playing with Louisiana Select, Derenbecker had huge games against some quality opponents. For the event he finished shooting 64-percent from the three-point line.

Trent Johnson now owns a pair of commitments. Derenbecker joins 6-foot-7 face up forward Jalen Courtney.

Currently, Derenbecker is ranked as a three-star prospect and is ranked the No. 25 shooting guard in the class of 2010.
