Rumors surfaced two weeks ago that the electric combo guard may back off of his verbal commitment to Tennessee. But as the first July evaluation period settled down, so did the rumors.
Then on Saturday the rumor mill was in full swing. By days end, Selby posted a message on his facebook saying he had decommitted from the University of Tennessee.
On Sunday the 6-foot-2, 180-pound guard confirmed the news to Scout.com via email.
"Yeah I did [decommit]," Selby, who is ranked No. 10 overall by Scout.com, wrote.
This is the second guard to decommit from Tennessee in the past two months. Aaron Craft spurned the Vols and committed to Ohio State shortly after. But Selby, who is ranked No. 3 at the point guard spot in 2010, is a far great loss.
