Solomon Stays In-State

Richard Solomon's verbal commitment on Friday gave one Pac-10 program quite the foundation for its 2010 recruiting class.

The California Golden Bears 2010 recruiting class is taking shape nicely.

Sharp shooter Allen Crabbe and wing Alex Rossi were the first pledges and on Friday, frontcourt standout Richard Solomon joined them. Solomon, ranked No. 81 by Scout.com, considered the Golden Bears, Oregon State Beavers and Oregon Ducks.

"It was a hard choice," Solomon's father told Scout.com. "Montgomery shared with my son how he wanted to use him."

Solomon's sister also attended Cal so there's a familiarity with the school and the basketball program. Plus, Cal had his major.

"He wants to build computers and they have the leading people in the world (on campus)," Solomon's father said. "When we sorted it all out, it was his choice and Cal was the better move."

Solomon attends L.A. Price High and is AAU teammates with Crabbe on the Compton Magic.
