Jones Still Weighing Options

Bryce Jones, a talented senior small forward from Southern California, is hearing from numerous programs in the Pac-10 and elsewhere...

Bryce Jones, 6-5 SR SF Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft, is one of the top small forwards in the west for 2010. Jones has a prototype wing body and he's an above-average athlete. He's most effective slashing to the basket, but has the ability to post up inside or play on the perimeter as well.

I spoke with Jones recently and asked about the schools that have been in contact with him.

"Arizona State, USC, Arizona, Missouri, Washington, Washington State, Marquette and Syracuse are some of them," said Jones.

When asked which schools have offered, Jones replied, "I'm not really sure because my Mom has been talking with most of them."

I asked Jones if he has a favorite.

"No, right now I'm just really looking around," said Jones.

Jones talked a little about the factors he'll consider when picking a school.

"The type of offense they run and how I fit into it," said Jones. "Also, someplace that is in a nice area. The location doesn't really matter to me."

I asked Jones if he has a feel for which school has been recruiting him the hardest.

"They've all been coming pretty hard," said Jones.

Jones took an unofficial visit recently to a local school.

"I went to USC the first day of August," said Jones. "It went pretty well – I liked it."

Jones said he'll visit a couple more Pac-10 schools soon.

"I'm supposed to go to Arizona and Arizona State in two weeks," said Jones.
