King May Wait On Decision

Keala King, one of the elite wings in the west for 2010, has a few schools at the top of his list and says it's possible he could wait until spring to pick a school...

Keala King, 6-4 SR SG Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is a versatile lefty with the ability to impact a game in a lot of different ways. He has good ball-handling skills, he can get to the basket to create opportunities for himself or teammates, he's an above average rebounder for a wing and he has the potential to be a multi-position defender at the next level.

I spoke with King recently and he said a number of schools have been in touch with him since the July evaluation period.

"I've heard from Kentucky, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Oregon State, Oregon, Stanford and Harvard," said King.

King said all of the schools have extended scholarship offers.

I asked King if any schools stand out for him.

"My favorites right now are Arizona State, Arizona, Stanford and maybe Harvard a little bit," said King.

King said he's not really sure yet about a time frame for his decision.

"I want to take five visits, so I could possibly wait to sign late," said King. "But if I go on a visit, and I'm really comfortable with the school, it's possible I'd commit right then."

I asked King if there are any schools that will definitely get a visit from him.

"Arizona, Arizona State, probably Harvard and then I'll think about the other two," said King.
