Cain Receiving More Attention

Jason Cain and his Bartram teammates have been on a roll since they left the City of Palms event last month. Since getting back from Fort Myers they have yet to lose and Cain is heating up as a prospect.

Big Schools Checking In On Cain

Jason Cain and John Bartram are rolling and all it took was a trip to Florida to play in the City of Palms event to get them going. "Since we left Florida we've been something like 10-0," Bartram coach Lou Biester said. "[Jason Cain's] been playing real well for me."

Apparently well enough that Villanova, Utah, Penn State, UNC-Greensboro, Charlotte, most of the Big Five schools and Virginia are interested. Actually, Penn State, Greensboro and Virginia have offered. Biester thinks Villanova is close to pulling the trigger on a scholarship.

On Tuesday night, Utah coach Rick Majerus called Biester. On Monday, Cain was over on Villanova's campus.

Cain is averaging 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. "The better the team we play, the better he plays. He goes out and plays hard everyday. The thing is with him is that he doesn't have an ego. He does what it takes to win. He's my best passer."

The third-team all-city performer last year gets a chance to test his might this week against Gratz and Saturday against defending Delaware state champ Sanford which features Villanova signee Will Sheridan.
