Recruiting Gets "Crazy" for Cook

After an impressive summer on the circuit with DC Assault, Quinn Cook's recruitment has picked up, and five schools have already stepped up with an offer.

Quinn Cook has had trouble keeping up with all of the phone calls.

Everyday Cook, a 6-foot floor general, hears from a new college program. In fact Cook heard from a new school during our phone interview. Some prospects grow tired of the attention, but Cook is enjoying it.

"I'm loving this stuff," the Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha standout told Scout.com

"It's getting a little crazy right now," Cook continued. "My phone is ringing off the hook and my moms phone is ringing off the hook. It's getting crazy and I'm loving every second of it."

High major programs from all six major conference have contacted Cook, and he's already picked up scholarship offers from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Ohio State and Maryland.

Among the other programs showing interest are North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, Villanova, Virginia, Kentucky, Clemson, Florida State, Georgetown, Indiana, Baylor, Notre Dame, South Florida, Marquette, UCLA and Arizona.

"I'm open," Cook said. "I don't have any favorites. It's very early. I'm interested in any school that is interested in me. There is no decision coming soon I'm just taking it day by day."

While Cook isn't in a rush to make a college decision he is in the process of setting up some unofficial visits.

"I'm going to OSU versus USC football game," Cook said. "Then I'm going to go to Notre Dame and Tennessee. Me and James McAdoo are going to go down to UVA together and then I'm going to go to Virginia Tech and North Carolina too."

My mom and I haven't set most of the dates," he added. "We just know those are the schools that we are going to visit."

Ohio State is the only school with a set up date, as he'll be in town for the Buckeyes biggest football game of the year on September 12th.

"I like Ohio State a lot," Cook said. "I like the coaches too. I'm real cool with coach [Jeff] Boals and I talk to coach [Thad] Matta ever now and then. Coach Boals and coach Matta were at every one of my games this summer. They are showing me that they are very interested and I'm one of their main guys. I'm really feeling Ohio State right now."

Cook is currently rated as a four-star prospect is ranked No. 7 at the point guard position in the 2011 class.
