"I'm getting ready to take some visits," the Jacksonville (Fla.) Andrew Jackson standout told Scout.com. "I'm going to Kentucky and Indiana next week. I'm going the weekend of the 4th and the 5th."
Poole, a four-star prospect, has taken unofficial visits to Clemson and South Carolina, and isn't planning to visit the two schools officially. He did, however, seem to enjoy the visits to the South Carolina schools.
"Clemson is a small town and they have great support there," Poole said. "The coaching staff is real cool and it's just a nice place. When I went there I enjoyed it."
"South Carolina is coming up," he said. "I really like coach [Darrin] Horn. He's really energetic and he loves what he's doing. I really like talking to their coaching staff and I've gotten a feel for those guys. Football up there is big and last year they had a 20-win season in the SEC."
On the 4th Poole will head to Bloomington (Ind.) to meet with Tom Crean and the Hoosiers. Indiana has recruited him for quite some time, and that is one of the many reasons IU is still on his list.
"They've been there," Poole said about IU. "Indiana has been there with South Carolina and Clemson from the beginning. Indiana is a basketball school, so you can't go wrong that."
Although Kentucky was the last school to get involved in Poole's recruitment, they are certainly strong in the mix. A day after visiting Indiana, Poole will make the short drive to Lexington (Ky.) to see what the Wildcats have to offer.
"Kentucky is known for basketball and that's all it's known for that's what I like about it," Poole said. "They [got involved] after the July period. I've talked to Calipari and he's talked to my dad. Coach Orlando [Antiqua] is my recruiter and they've been on me hard."
Poole said he plans to sign during the early signing period.
