Gathers Hearing From Many Schools

Jordan Gathers, a promising combo guard from Southern California, gives us an update on the schools that have been in contact with him...

Jordan Gathers, 6-1 SR PG/SG Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft, is an intriguing prospect with a big upside. Gathers is an above average athlete, with a very good body, and he has a chance to play both guard spots in college. While he's not a true PG, Gathers handles the ball well enough to be viewed as a potential one down the road.

I spoke with Gathers recently and asked about the schools that have been in contact with him.

"Nevada, Fresno State, Santa Clara, Tulsa, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Southern Illinois and Long Beach State," said Gathers.

I asked Gathers if he likes any school in particular.

"No, I don't have a leader," said Gathers. "I'm interested in all the schools. I just want to have a great senior year."

Gathers talked a little about the factors he's considering when picking a school.

"Definitely the coaching staff and the players – both the ones they're recruiting and the guys they already have," said Gathers. "I want a team that has a chance to play in the tournament. I also want to be recruited as a point guard. The location doesn't matter – I'll go anywhere."

Gathers said he has a 2.8 GPA.
