Pruitt Still A Hot Commodity

Gabriel Pruitt, a junior point guard from Los Angeles, is ineligible to play this year after a problem was discovered with his transfer papers. But his recruitment doesn't seem to have been affected, as a number of elite schools across the country are expressing interest...

We spoke with Gabriel Pruitt, 6-2 JR PG Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester, last night and asked him which schools are currently on his list.

"Kansas, Arizona, Syracuse, Duke, North Carolina, Texas, Maryland, UCLA and Oregon," replied Pruitt.

Pruitt told us that a couple schools have tried to arrange visits. "UCLA wants me to come to some kind of Junior Day they're having," said Pruitt. "And Kansas is talking about having me and Arron (Afflalo) come out there with our dads for their game against Iowa St. in February."

Pruitt played with Afflalo, a junior shooting guard at Compton Centennial, until last year, when Pruitt decided to transfer to Westchester. Pruitt remains very close to Afflalo, though, and we asked if the two of them might go to school together. "It would be nice if it happened," said Pruitt. "It won't be the reason we choose a school, but it would be good if it works out."

Pruitt told us that he's in no hurry to make a decision. "Not until after the summer," said Pruitt. "I don't want to choose a school until I know everything is set and there won't be any surprises."

When asked if he has any schools that he knows he wants to visit, Pruitt said, "Kansas, Arizona, Oregon and Syracuse."
