ACC School Adds To Impressive Haul

James Johnson didn't need any more visits. In Charlottesville, he found the makings a great recruiting class and a situation that could use a player of his caliber.

The Virginia Cavaliers are rolling.

No. 31 James Johnson, a big man out of Wildomar (Calif.) Elsinore, is headed to Virginia. After considering Oklahoma, Arizona, Arizona State, California and Oklahoma State, Johnson committed to the Cavaliers before he left after his visit.

"James felt so good about the program," Ted Johnson told Scout.com. "It's the ACC, James always wanted to play in the ACC."

The Virginia Cavaliers, under Bennett are putting together an incredibly strong recruiting class. Top 100 prospects K.T. Harrell and Johnson, are joined by Joe Harris and Will Regan, a rock solid tough guy inside.

Johnson has a sister who attends Liberty, a few hours Charlottesville.

The Cavaliers were honest with Johnson and he'll be ready to earn his stripes. "What we appreciated was that Coach Bennett didn't guarantee him he would start," Johnson's father said. "He's going to have to earn it but he will have chances. There's no guarantees in this world but he'll work. Coach said he can give him every opportunity to reach his maximum potential."

Virginia's class is strong. Each player will factor into Bennett's plans. Each brings a different strength to the lineup.
