Poole Returns From Last Visit, Decision Looms

Stacey Poole is closing in on making his college decision. Scout.com caught up with him and he broke down his recruitment.

Stacey Poole took his last scheduled college visit, and now he's getting close to making his college decision.

A four-star recruit out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Andrew Jackson, Poole told Scout.com Sunday evening that he's cut his list to Kentucky and South Carolina, and that he'll likely make a decision at the end of this week.

"In a couple of days I"m going to sit down with my parents and make a decision," Poole said.

Poole, a 6-foot-5 small forward, was in Lexington (Ky.) this past weekend for his official visit to Kentucky. During the trip he got to spend a significant amount of time with the Wildcats current team.

"I was getting a feel for everything and I meet with the coaching staff," Poole said. "I really didn't spend much time with Coach Cal, because he wanted me to spend time with the players becasue that's who I'm going to be playing with. Everythign was good. The players showed me and Brandon a good time so I enjoyed it. It was fun."

"Those fans are crazy," Poole added. "They love it there. It was good. It was one of the best visits that I've had to be honest with you."

South Carolina has had Poole on campus recently and the talented wing said their head coach is the main reason they are so high on his list.

"Coach [Darrin] Horn is energetic and young," he said. "He loves it. He's building South Carolina. That school was one of the best in SEC last year. I enjoy watching them play and watching him coach. South Carolina has been there from day one."

Poole is ranked No. 58 overall by Scout.com.
