Plenty Of Options For Wiltjer

Kyle Wiltjer is one of the more talented players in the West Coast class of 2011 and and he's already holding several scholarship offers...

Kyle Wiltjer, 6-9 JR PF Portland (Ore.) Jesuit, is a talented face-up four man with a very nice stroke to the stripe. I spoke with Wiltjer recently and he told me he's hearing from a wide variety of schools.

"I've been in contact with the whole Pac-10," said Wiltjer. "Arizona State, Cal, Gonzaga, Oregon, Oregon State and USC have offered. Stanford has also offered under the condition that I'm admitted academically."

I asked Wiltjer if he has any favorites.

"No, I'm really open to anyone right now," said Wiltjer. "I need to gather information and learn more about the schools that have contacted me. There are schools like Texas, Wake Forest, Maryland, Kansas and Kentucky where I need to learn more about them and their systems."

Wiltjer talked a little about the issues he's consider when making his choice.

"The main thing is a school that fits my style of play and player development," said Wiltjer. "I want to go somewhere that I can get better throughout my career. The location doesn't really matter, I'll go anywhere."

Wiltjer is in the process of taking some unofficial visits.

"I'm going to Cal this weekend for an unofficial," said Wiltjer. "And I know I'm going to visit Stanford, but I'm not sure when."

Wiltjer said he hopes to make a decision sometime after next summer. He said his GPA is in the 3.3 to 3.4 range.
