Crawford Picks Hometown School

Chris Crawford made up his mind and made a commitment on Thursday. The talented shooting guard is staying home.

Chris Crawford made a splash during the summer playing with the Memphis Magic. Now he hopes to make a splash playing for the Memphis Tigers.

The Memphis (Tenn.) Sheffield standout committed to Josh Pastner and his staff at Memphis Thursday evening.

"I just really didn't want to leave," Crawford, a Memphis native, told Gary Parrish of CBS Sports. "I want to play in front of my family."

During the adidas Super 64 tournament in Las Vegas in July, Crawford had his shooting stroke on display and picked up a number of quality interest form a number of schools including Mississippi State and Tennessee.

Crawford is now the fourth member of Pastner's 2010 recruiting class. He joins top 10 recruit Will Barton, his brother Antonio Barton and dynamic lead guard Joe Jackson.
