Perry, King Match Up Goes OT

DURHAM, N.C. – Two of the area's better teams squared off at Southern High on Tuesday night. In a match up of two future Division I players, overtime was needed to settle the score.

Hillside Sweeps Season Series

Southern Durham fought Hillside and hit it with everything it had on Tuesday night. But, it just wasn't enough as the Hillside Hornets prevailed 80-79 in overtime for their second win of the year over Southern.

Hillside's Chris Lennon went coast-to-coast to give his team the lead for good with just under 30 seconds remaining in the overtime.

The two stars of the game – Bobby Perry and Anthony King – posted very good statistical nights. Perry, the Kentucky signee, scored 23 points and had King scored 27 points to go with 7 rebounds.

Together, the pair scored just one bucket outside of the paint; a 3-pointer from Perry was said bucket. King was an efficient 11-for-17 from the field. Perry wasn't too shabby either with a 9-for-17 effort (1-for-5 from downtown). However similar the numbers, they were achieved in a different manner.

Perry used his ball skills to catch, face and maneuver inside for hoops. King, a bulkier power forward, did much more work right around the hoop. Neither set the world on fire from the line with King going 5-for-11 from the stripe and Perry 4-for-10.

The talk in the gym regarding King was a recent visit to Miami-FL. Apparently, it went really well and the Hurricanes appear to be in good shape with him though a commitment has not been announced.

The following shot charts provide more detail on the games of both Perry and King.
