Jonathan Tolliver, 6-3 JR SG Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester, is drawing some attention at the mid to high major level primarily due to his ability to shoot the ball. He's got a good frame, and is fairly athletic, but it's his deep range than has coaches interested. He'll need to improve his ball handling and passing skills, but he does have an intriguing upside.

We spoke with Tolliver yesterday and asked which schools interest him at the moment. "Texas Tech, Wyoming, Portland, Utah and Penn St.," said Tolliver.

When we asked if any school stood out from the pack, Tolliver replied, "Texas Tech. Coach Pat Knight has been showing me a lot of love -- he's been out here a couple times."

We asked which other schools had been to practices at Westchester and Tolliver said, "Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount and UC Davis have also been out."

Tolliver told us that he has no problem with leaving home for college. "My parents want me to stay close, but I don't think I can do it," said Tolliver.

When asked about other factors that would influence his decision, Tolliver said, "I'll look at academics and then how my visits go."

Tolliver told us one issue that won't be important to him is early playing time. "I'll be a freshman, so I really wouldn't worry about it," said Tolliver.

Tolliver told us he has a 3.1 GPA and has yet to take the SAT. He also said he doesn't plan on signing early. "I'll take my time and probably commit after my senior season is over," said Tolliver.
