Big Man Henderson To The SEC

Josh Henderson didn't expect to leave ACC country but once he visited Vanderbilt, he'd found his match.

The last guy Roanoke (Va.) Cave Spring produced was a young man named J.J. Redick. He turned in an all-american career at Duke.

Vanderbilt is hoping 6-foot-11 Josh Henderson can have similar success. Over the weekend, Henderson pledged allegiance to Kevin Stallings.

"When I narrowed it down to Davidson and Vanderbilt, I felt like I couldn't go wrong," Henderson said. "I feel like they like to push it but how the game goes through A.J. Ogilvy with the inside-out approach and that made me feel really comfortable."

Henderson trimmed his list to four: Davidson, Vandy, Wake Forest and Virginia before narrowing to a pair.

Vanderbilt did its homework and followed Henderson with his East Coast Fusion team this spring and summer.

"To be honest, they called in the AAU season and they followed me through the summer. Being from here, it's all ACC basketball. But I saw how great their academics were and took a look at it. Once I got there and actually being there that was it."
