Purdue Scores 2012 Prospect

Purdue went to the 2012 class for their latest commitment. They scored Ohio native Kyle Molock.

Kyle Molock, a 2012 prospect out of Dublin (Ohio) Coffman, made a verbal pledge to Matt Painter and his staff at Purdue late Sunday evening.

"He actually committed last night to coach Painter," Karl Molock said. "He's very excited. My wife and I were very excited as well."

Throughout the summer Purdue's staff following Molock. During the evaluation period, coach Painter was able to him out during a work out and then the Boilermakers got him on campus this past weekend.

"This past Friday we went up for an all day visit," Molock said. "Our family was there and we spent the whole day with coach Painter and the coaching staff. We just felt that it was the right fit."

Despite fielding offers from Ohio, St. Joseph, Akron and Georgia State, as well as interest from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Wake Forest, Michigan State and Florida International, Molock went with Purdue because of the overall fit.

"We knew what we wanted for Kyle and Kyle knew what he wanted for himself," the elder Molcok said. "We were looking for a school that has strong academics, a top notch basketball program and a comfort level with the head coach and Purdue checked out in all of those areas and additional areas."
