Burke Goes With Big Ten School

Trey Burke is headed to the Big Ten. He made his college decision on Wednesday.

Trey Burke has found his college home.

After taking a few recent unofficial visits Burke, a standout at Columbus (Ohio) Northland, made his college decision. Burke will take his game to Penn State.

"I went down there for a game at the beginning of the year and I had never thought about Penn State like that," Burke said. "When I went down there the fans were real nice, the coaches were cool and the facilities were nice. I just liked the atmosphere and I could see myself playing there."

"I've been thinking about it the past couple of weeks because I'd never really thought about making my decision during my junior year," he added. "I thought it over and talked it over with my dad and just thought it was the best decision for me."

Burke had scholarship offers on the table from Butler, Ohio and Cleveland State, while Ohio State, Cincinnati and West Virginia were also showing interest in the 5-foot-11, 155-pound floor general.

Burke recently visited Penn State, as well as West Virginia, and during his trip to PSU he was able to see some tape on Taylor Battle and he sees himself in a similar role.

"A lot of it was the way they used Taylor Battle," he said. "I cold see myself playing that type of position when I get there. They way they use him i could just see them using me the same way. I watched a couple of games and I like the way they play and that really put them over the top."

Burke is Penn State's first commitment of the 2011 class.
