Yacoubou Will Play In The Big East

Another recruit is off the board. Achraf Yacoubou recently ended his recruitment during a live television show.

Achraf Yacoubou decided to accept a scholarship on Thursday.

During an announcement on MSG Varsity, the 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard gave Jay Wright and his program a verbal commitment.

Newsday talked to Yacoubou's guardian, Randy Harper, about the commitment to the Wildcats.

"He took an unofficial visit to Villanova in the summer and saw Scottie Reynolds diving all over the court," Harper said. "That's the type of player he wants be with. Coach Wright demands a lot of his players and that's the kind of coach he wants to play for."

Yacoubou, a four-star prospect, is Villanova's first commitment for the 2011 class. He's ranked No. 16 at the shooting guard spot on Scout.com.
