Recruiting Going Lovely

Stargell Love has picked up his play on the court and he's gaining interest off of it. He'll be taking official visits soon.

Stargell Love has had one focus lately, and that's turning himself into a point guard.

After a solid summer on the circuit with D-One Sports, Love, a 6-foot-2, 180-pounder, has been getting after it in the gym.

"I'm turning into more of a true point guard," he said. "I've been working on my shot a lot lately. I've been working on my foot work and stuff thats going to get me better and help me for the next level."

Scout.com analyst Eric Bossi came away praising Love's efforts after watching the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Quality Education Academy standout play at the D-One Sports Combine this past weekend.

"Strong, quick and explosive off the floor, he's a threat as both a penetrate and dish guy or a scorer who can make one on one plays late in a possession," Bossi said.

"It's coming along real good," Love said of the transition. "With me starting to be the point guard with D-One sports at the beginning of the summer I've learned the position pretty fast."

On the recruiting front, Love has seen interest pick up. Among the schools recruiting him are Baylor, Florida, UMass, Mississippi State, UCLA, Marquette, UNC-Greensboro, Western Carolina, Auburn, Xavier and Florida State.

Love currently holds scholarship offers from Mississippi State, Marquette, UMass and UNC-Greensboro.

According to Love, the next step is for him to set up official visits. Love said he's yet to take any visits, and he thinks the visit process will play a big role in his ultimate decision.

"I think the deciding factor is going to be the visits," Love told Scout.com. "I'm ready to see how I'm going to like the schools."

According to Love he's setting up visits in the next two or three weeks. He already has a good idea of which schools he's wants to visit.

"I know I want to visit Baylor, Florida, Mississippi State and Marquette," he said. "Those schools have been really recruiting me hard."
