St. Anthony Star Makes Final Four

Devon Collier has a Pac-10 and three Big East schools left in his chase. Following his next trip to Seton Hall, Collier would like to slice off a few more schools.

Devon Collier, the 6-foot-8 power forward out of Jersey City (N.J.) St. Anthony, sits at four schools. His season begins Dec. 17 but the first signing period tips Nov. 11. Will we have any action from's No. 70 player?

"I'm close, I'm trying to end this before the season so I can focus on my season and my school," Collier said. "I'll commit early, but sign late.

"I want to see how they play. They say they play a good game but I want to see it for myself."

Collier visited Oregon State then scheduled a series of trips through Big East programs hoping to climb in the standings and use Collier as a pillar inside. Providence and St. John's received visits; Seton Hall is up this weekend.

"When I make my last visit I'll start trimming. I'll separate them where I fit with team chemistry."

During our interview following the Eddie Griffin Challenge last week, Collier alluded to chemistry more than once. Could it be the theme he's looking for or the standard he'll use to separate the programs?

"I see myself as a team player. It's not about me, it's about winning. I'm a team player. I've gotten that vibe at all three places, I just got to see which one fits me the best."

And about signing late, Collier conceded, "it's possible, it's possible."
