Over the weekend Huntington (W.V.) Prep picked up a prospect that fits the above description. Rob Fulford's program scored 6-foot-10, 205-pound Gorgui Sy Dieng, of Senegal.
Fulford watched the 2010 prospect for the first time over the weekend and said he's a guy with high major talent.
"He's very skilled," Fulford said. "He can put it on the floor and create his own shot. He can shoot the three, so he'll keep you honest. He has a very high basketball IQ and he plays with a big motor too."
"My first impression was that he's extremely long and very athletic for a kid that's 6-10. He handles the ball very well and was doing two ball drills better than some of my guards."
Sy Dieng played with the Senegal team in the Nike Global Games in early August and averaged 16.6 points and eight rebounds per game, while playing against competition from the United States and other countries.
As far as college attention goes, according to Fulford, Sy Dieng is pretty much an unknown.
"He's definitely under the radar," Fulford told Scout.com. "I'm sure some people have seen him, but to my knowledge there aren't many people that know about him."
