Dukan Makes Pick Day Before Signing Period

As expected, Duje Dukan made his choice on Tuesday. He plans to play in the Big Ten.

Duje Dukan knows where he's going to play his college basketball.

After examining a handful of programs and narrowing his list down to New Mexico, Arizona State and Wisconsin, the Deerfield (Ill.) High standout made his pick on Tuesday. He gave a pledge to Bo Ryan and Wisconsin.

"He's going to Wisconsin," Steve Pratt, of the Fullcourt Package AAU program, told Scout.com.

"Now his family can watch him play and its near where he grew up so everybody can watch him," he added. "His parents can be at every game."

According to Pratt, Dukan, a 6-foot-8 skilled forward, couldn't go wrong with his three options, but went with Wisconsin because of the proximity and conference.

"They all had great coaches and they were great programs," he said of the schools recruiting Dukan. "He grew up watching the Big Ten. If he grew up in New Mexico or Arizona maybe it would have been different."

"In the end he wanted to play on the biggest stage and that's a good system for him," Pratt added.

Dukan is the third member of the 2010 recruiting class to give a pledge to Wisconsin. He joins four-star recruit Evan Anderson and three-star prospect Josh Gasser.
