Moore To The Big East

J.J. Moore makes his decision on signing day. He committed to a Big East program Wednesday afternoon.

J.J. Moore had his list narrowed to just a few schools and on National Signing Day the South Kent (Conn.) Academy standout made his pick.

"J.J. committed maybe 20 minutes to coach [Jamie] Dixon and Pittsburgh," South Kent head coach Kelvin Jefferson told

Moore, a four-star prospect and a member of's top 100, also took a look at Louisville and St. John's, but he said he went with Pittsburgh because of their environment.

"The reason I chose Pitt is because of the environment....when I went back and visited them I liked it," Moore said. "The coaching staff is amazing and the players are amazing."

Moore said his relationship with Jamie Dixon was strong and he saw him at nearly all his games during July.

"I got to know him very well," Moore said. "I've seen him a couple of time when I went to California for a tournament after Vegas he was there watching all my games. He came up to see me a couple of times. He took all of his visits except one more. Our relationship is very strong."

Moore is Pittsburgh's third commitment of the 2010 class. He joins Cameron Wright and Isaiah Epps. All three prospects are four-star recruits.
