"J.J. committed maybe 20 minutes to coach [Jamie] Dixon and Pittsburgh," South Kent head coach Kelvin Jefferson told Scout.com.
"The reason I chose Pitt is because of the environment....when I went back and visited them I liked it," Moore said. "The coaching staff is amazing and the players are amazing."
Moore said his relationship with Jamie Dixon was strong and he saw him at nearly all his games during July.
"I got to know him very well," Moore said. "I've seen him a couple of time when I went to California for a tournament after Vegas he was there watching all my games. He came up to see me a couple of times. He took all of his visits except one more. Our relationship is very strong."
Moore is Pittsburgh's third commitment of the 2010 class. He joins
