LaSalle Scores Big With Mills

The LaSalle Explorers are getting talent in their program via the class of 2010. Sam Mills, a combo guard, is signed up for next season and he's a good one.

The Atlantic 10 is going to feature a litany of good guards next season. The nation is aware of what's going on at Xavier and Dayton but John Giannini's La Salle Explorers, on Monday, signed a four-star guard.

Sam Mills,'s No. 21 point guard, signed his letter of intent with Giannini's program. Mills had offers from Delaware and Marshall and Florida State and Georgia Tech were definitely recruiting him. LaSalle, for the second year in a row, has added one of's four-star players. Mills is tracking as a late blooming combo guard.

Sam is a great addition to our program," Giannini said. "He is a highly talented guard with a great work ethic and a very impressive academic record. He received recruiting attention from various basketball powers as well as elite academic institutions. He saw an opportunity to make an immediate impact on a talented team at La Salle."

Mills played for Florida Elite last summer. At Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons, he averaged 17 points and seven assists as a junior.

Joining him is outstanding three-star point guard Tyreek Duren and Matt Lopez of Washington Township out of Jersey.
