Prime Time Day Two

TRENTON, N.J. – Just three boy's games on tap Friday and the action was less than captivating. Once again, Oak Hill was tested.

Prime Time Shootout, Day Two Recap

Oak Hill 69, St. John Neumann 57
St. Anthony's 67, Reynolds 47
Clifton routed St. Peter's

2003 Checklist

Terrence Roberts, PF, St. Anthony's: If Reynolds had an advantage against the Friars it would have been with its size. That mattered little to Roberts who had 18 points and 5 rebounds. It was his inside play in the first half that seemed to set the tone for the blowout. Reynolds had size but Roberts' effort neutralized the advantage.

Reyshawn Terry, SF, Reynolds: Had had 16 points and 3 rebounds before fouling out in the 4th quarter. A lot was asked of him from a ball handling standpoint since St. Anthony's strength is its guard play. He had a better, more aggressive second half than first.

Marcus Williams, PG, Oak Hill: He finished with 16 points, 8 in the first half. His floor game looked pretty good and it would be fair to say he contributed in a number of different ways.

Dion Dacons, PF, Oak Hill: You have to respect the effort he gives each time out. He had 15 tonight and easily could have been the player of the game. The guy plays within himself, makes things happen in the paint and has a nose for the ball. He's going to be a helluva mid-major player.

2004 Checklist

Richard Cunningham, PG, St. John Neumann: The little man earned our respect tonight. He's so fast that he can press the issue, but he controls his speed well and has a certain presence on the court. It's his team and he runs the show. The mid-majors will love him and if he can work on his perimeter game he rises up a level. He made key plays to get Neumann back into the game late. Tough, fast and gritty.

Off The Dribble

St. Anthony's just has too many guards and is too good at pressuring the ball. Reynolds, a frontline-heavy team, couldn't have encountered a worse situation. Reynolds fell behind 17-6 early. … Speaking of falling behind early, Neumann ran out to a 9-0 run. … Byron Joynes had another spurt where he looked good in this game. True to form, it was just a spurt. …

Get this, a charitable foundation is selling LeBron James limited edition t-shirts at the Prime Time for $13 a pop. The madness continues. … Cunningham was credited with a 40-footer at the buzzer against Oak Hill to end the first quarter. …

Extra security has been hired to handle the masses on Saturday. … Need tickets? There's a handful of $70 luxury suite seats available. They'll go fast on Saturday afternoon. … Charles Rhodes won't play for Lanier this weekend. He's ineligible for the remainder of the season due to a transfer situation. …
