Live Blog: Shootout At The Hall

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- From DeJuan Marrero to Jereme Richmond to Quincy Miller plenty of talent will touch the hardwood at the Shootout At The Hall, and this is the place for updates throughout the event.

Continuously Updated So Check Back!

9:50 - We are calling it quits with the blog. Hitting the road just after this Quality Education/Brehm Prep game. Be sure to stay tuned for the full recap tomorrow morning.

9:38 - The final stats are in. Centennial knocked off Waukegan 71 to 54. Rice finished with 32 points on 12-for-21 shooting. Richmond went 8-for-15 scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

9:15 - Rayvonte Rice and Centennial are running away with this one. They are up 64-50 with 3:30 left. Rice looks terrific. He has 29 points. Richmond has 19.

8:43 - We are just into the second half of the Waukegan/Centennial match up. Centennial is up 43-31. Rayvonte Rice, a Drake commit, is having a big game. Has 14 points thus far.

8:17 - There's a pretty big crowd assembled for the Waukegan/Centennial showdown. Jereme Richmond is the feature prospect in this one and he has an early five points through the first quarter. Centennial is up 18-12.

8:00 - Just spoke Chasson Randle. Although he said he didn't necessarily have a favorite he did say that he felt "comfortable" with Illinois. He also listed Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa, Stanford, Iowa State, Harvard, Michigan and DePaul.

7:50 - Rock Island knocked off Robinson by a score of 58-53. Leonard finished with 16 points, five blocks, four assists and a handful of rebounds. Randle finished with 28 points and eight rebounds.

7:24 - Someone on press row made a great comment: "Leonard could get a triple-double if altered shots counted as blocks." He has at least five legit blocks in this one. Randle checks in with 26 points with just 3:30 left.

6:51 - Great first half between Rock Island and Robinson. Leonard and Randle have 12 points. Leonard has a pair of dunks, three mid-range jumpers and a finish at the rim. Randle, on the other hand, has a handful of deep three-pointers. Robinson leads 31-24.

6:34 - Leonard with a pair of monster blocks and dunks and the crowd in Assembly Hall erupted. The big fella is playing hard, which was a knock on him this summer.

6:29 - Meyers Leonard and Robinson are set to tip off against Chasson Randle and Rock Island. Just spotted Jereme Richmond. He's rocking an interesting mohawk!

6:21 - Mt. Carmel managed to fend off Peoria by a score of 68-62. Abrams finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Drummond had 14 points, but six turnovers.

5:39 - Mt. Carmel and Peoria Central are going at it. The two are now headed to overtime, shortly after a Drummond steal and dish to a teammate for a lay up just before the buzzer.

4:50 - Peoria Central leads 29-24 at the half. Abrams leads all scorers with 11 points

4:34 - Tracy Abrams hasn't wasted any time in this one. He has nine points off three-pointers at the end of the first quarter. Mt. Carmel and Peoria Central are tied at 13.

4:27 - I dare you to find a more entertaining high school coach than Dan Ruffin, of Peoria Central. He gets into his guys and they respond.

4:15 - Mt. Carmel and Peoria Central are about to tangle. This one is intriguing because of the guard match up between 2011 Illinois commit Tracy Abrams and 2012 prospect Antonio Drummond.

4:00 -Bowman Academy knocked off Peoria Manual 69 to 50. Marrero finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Chris Bond also chipped in 18 and 11.

3:15 - At the Marshall County Hoopfest last weekend Tyrae Robinson was clutch for Bowman Academy. After foul trouble in the first session, Robinson is making an early impact in the second. He's a talented scorer that can really shoot it from mid-range.

3:00 A relatively uneventful first half between Manual and Bowman Academy is in the books. Marrero, a 6-foot-6 combo forward, has a handful of points and a breakaway dunk. Bowman leads 34-29.

2:40 - Illinois fans are starting to file in Assembly Hall. It's clear they know DeJuan "Rico" Marrero is one of their early targets for the 2012 class. Thus far he's off to a slow start. Has two points six minutes in.

2:29 - Game No. 3 featuring Peoria Manual and Bowman Academy is about to tip. Hopefully it's better paced than the last contest. DeJuan Marrero is the headliner in this one.

Dragicevich Drops 19
2:03 - The Glenbrook North/Notre Dame game slowly came to an end. The Champaign YMCA likely has better scoring output in their pick up games than this one did. Glenbrook North won 41-23. Dragicevich had a game high 19 points.

1:42 - Glenbrook North leads up Notre Dame 31-14 heading into the fourth quarter. Dragicevich leads all scorers with 16 points. He's done a lot of ball handling for G.N.

1:15 - Dragicevich, a Notre Dame commit, continues to impress. He has 12 points at halftime. The 6-foot-6, possibly 6-7 wing, scored off a pair of three-pointers and three mid-range pull-up jumpers. Glenbrook is on top of Notre Dame by a score of 23-8.

1:05 - A handful of college coaches hae made it into Assembly Hall. Western Michigan and Harvard have both been spotted, as has Illinois head coach Bruce Weber.

1:01 - Notre Dame got on the board as the buzzer sounded to end the first quarter. Glenbrook North holds a 10-2 lead.

12:51 - Notre Dame and Glenbrook North just tipped off. First thing I noticed was Alex Dragicevich's skill set. He has a quick early four point, especially liked his pull-up 18-footer over an out stretched defender.

12:37 - Spoke with Macari Brooks after the game his big game. Currently claims scholarship offers from DePaul, Dayton, Southern Illinois and Illinois State. California, South Florida, Xavier, Indiana and Illinois are in the mix too.

12:18 - The first game of the day is complete. Rich South managed to hold off Champaign Central by a score of 53-47. Macari Brooks finished with a game high 22 points.

12:12 - Here's the schedule for the rest of the day:

12:45 -- Peoria Notre Dame vs Glenbrook North
2:30 -- Peoria Manual vs Bowman Academy
4:15 -- Peoria Central vs Mt. Carmel
6:00 -- Rock Island vs Robinson
7:45 -- Champaign Centennial vs Waukegan
9:30 -- Brehm Prep vs Quality Education Academy

12:00 - The fourth quarter has just begun with both Rich South and Champaign Central tied at 38. Macari Brooks is still stuck on 16 points, as he failed to score in the third quarter.

11:51 - Have yet to see the first college coach of the day. With the amount of prospects participating I'd be surprised if a bunch don't show up by days end.

11:31 - The Champaign Central/Rich South game just reached half time. Central is up 24-23. Jay Simpson has a team high six points, while Macari Brooks is leading Rich South with 16 points.

11:24 - Purdue's 2012 commit Jay Simpson is coming alive. He has six points in the second quarter, including a step-in 15-footer. He's listed at 6-foot-8 in the program, thinking he's more like 6-7. Does have a pretty nice frame though.

11:12 - Macari Brooks is off to a nice start. He's secured three offensive rebounds and a handful of points in the first four minutes.

11:04 - Champaign Central and Rich South are the first two teams to take the court. Central is lead by Purdue commit Jay Simpson. Rich South is home to Macari Brooks.

10:55: I'm set up at Assembly Hall. As it has been the past few years, the Shootout is loaded with prospects. Among the top prospects that will play are Quincy Miller, Jereme Richmond, DaJuan Marrero, Tracy Abrams, Jay Simpson, James Siakim, Chasson Randle, Meyers Leonard and Andre Henley.
