Six Schools In Pursuit
Alexander Johnson probably isn't fully aware of the impact he can have for one college team next season. If you follow recruiting then you are aware of the fact that the big man crop in high school and prep school basketball is pretty picked over. That's why Johnson, one of the top remaining prospects is so important.
Johnson said that Indiana, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky and Cincinnati are hot on his trail. He's got to re-take the SAT again in April and hasn't taken an official visit. "I'm going to visit five schools," Johnson said. "I just don't know what five."
From the sound of it, Indiana and Cincinnati could probably count on a visit. "I guess Indiana leads. I like the way Coach Davis has been coaching several players like Jeffries and some of the other big guys. I like how he coaches big guys. I love Cincinnati too. I love how tough he is on the players."
Johnson said that his preference would be to return to the south, but acknowledges Indiana is still strong. "They aren't southern but they still are on the top of my list."
From talking to Johnson it doesn't sound like he's rushing to the podium to announce a decision so there's reason to think that all the schools on his list have got a shot.
