"America's Recruit" Stays Home

Brandon Bass is no longer an uncommitted prospect. The man we call "America's Recruit" picked a college Friday morning. He's staying in-state.

Tigers Land Key Recruit

At a press conference at Capitol High School Friday morning, a winner emerged in the race to land Brandon Bass. The power forward stood up and announced for Louisiana State.

In doing so, Bass became the fifth member of coach John Brady's outstanding recruiting class. He joins Regis Koundjia, Taurean Minor, Ross Neltner and Darnell Lazare.

How good is he? He'll probably be a McDonald's All-American later this month. In doing so he would LSU's first burger game participant since Stromile Swift played in the game.

Here at TheInsidersHoops.com we often refer to Bass as "America's Recruit" because in our estimation, the way he plays would be attractive to any school in the country. This is a young man who is fearless, plays with intensity and has the kind of inside skill package and determination that could get him onto the floor at any university.

This is a big day for LSU basketball.
