Big Timers Paying Close Attention
Oklahoma City's Darnell Jackson is blossoming into a big time power forward prospect. How do we know? Well, we've seen him play last spring and summer and now some of college basketball big timers are seeing him as well.
Kelvin Sampson and Roy Williams are just two of the head coaches who made recruiting trips to Oklahoma City to see Jackson. Assistants from Illinois, New Mexico, Connecticut, Purdue, Kansas and Oklahoma watched him this year.
Jackson reported that he's averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds. The big fella says his AAU coach, Gary Vick, helped him develop another part of his game. "My post moves are better now," Jackson said. "The schools I play against play a lot of zone. Every time I get the ball four people run and trap me."
Jackson has made unofficial visits this year to Kansas and Oklahoma. After his season ends, he would like to make official visits to Purdue, Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico.
