2012 Intro: Jordan Tebbutt

Jordan Tebbutt, a very promising young forward from Oregon, is drawing serious early interest from some high major programs...

Jordan Tebbutt, 6-5 SO SF Tualatin (Ore.) High, is a very skilled and talented young prospect. A good shooter to the stripe, Tebbutt has very good ball skills overall. Despite being only a sophomore, he's already very strong and he can play inside as well as on the perimeter. He's a terrific competitor as well and shows a good feel for the game. His ultimate position will be determined by how his body goes, but he figures to be one of the top 2012 prospects in the west.

I spoke with Tebbutt recently and asked about the schools that have expressed interest in him to date.

"Washington, Kentucky, UCLA, Gonzaga, Arizona, Virginia, USC, Washington State and Oregon State have been the main ones," said Tebbutt. "Washington, UCLA, Virginia and Oregon State have offered."

I asked Tebbutt if any schools are out in front at this time.

"Washington is probably in front right now," said Tebbutt. "And UCLA."

I asked Tebbutt what he is looking for in a school.

"The location -- I'm thinking I might like the West Coast better," said Tebbutt. "Then the personnel, the coaching staff -- how they work."

When questioned about early playing time as a factor, Tebbutt replied, "Yes, it would be nice to play early if I get good enough."

Tebbutt has been to a few college campuses already.

"I've been to Washington, Oregon State, USC, UCLA and Marquette," said Tebbutt. "I've spent a lot of time with the Washington and Oregon State staffs."

Tebbutt said he has no time frame for reaching a decision.

"I'll take as long as I need -- I don't have a time frame," said Tebbutt.

Tebbutt said he currently has a 3.5 GPA.
