Gasser Exploring Options
Hans Gasser, 6-8 SR PF Issaquah (Wash.) High, didn't have a great showing last summer. But what many people didn't realize is that Gasser was sick for much of the summmer. "I had pneumonia early," said Gasser. "Then I got strep throat two days before the Big Time." Gasser is healthy now and he looked improved when we saw him recently at the MLK event in Seattle. He has a tendency to shoot too many outside shots -- and that's not his strength -- but when he went inside he was effective. He still needs to add weight and strength, but he has a chance to play somewhere at the next level. We asked Gasser about the schools he's interested in at the moment. "Washington, Washington State, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Stanford and Santa Clara," said Gasser. "Gonzaga came out to a practice recently and most of the schools have been to a game." Gasser took an unofficial visit to Washington prior to the season, but he hasn't set up any official visits yet. "After my season is over, I'll look to take some visits," said Gasser. We asked about the timing of his decision and Gasser replied, "I'm aiming for April, but we'll see." Gasser realizes he needs to get bigger, saying, "A redshirt year might help me, so I could get bigger and stronger. I want to go someplace where I can get better and grow into the program."
