Wright Changes List

Dorrel Wright is perhaps the best remaining prospect available in the West Coast class of 2003. He still has some work to do academically in order to qualify, but he has three schools at the top of his list if he does qualify...

Dorrel Wright, 6-6 SR SF Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger, is a spectacular athlete with the skills to play at the high major level. He's shown considerable progress in the last year, with a much more consistent jump shot and improved handle. He has as high an upside as any other player in the 2003 class.

We spoke with Wright recently and he told us that his top three schools are USC, Utah and Iowa.

The potential snag for these schools, and Wright, is his ability to qualify academically. He still hasn't achieved a qualifying test score. He'll take the SAT in April.

Wright is keeping his options open in the event that he doesn't qualify. He took a trip recently to Iowa Southeastern Community College, which he said he enjoyed very much.

In the event that Wright does go to a junior college, he will definitely be a player to watch in a couple of years. With a few more years to develop physically, he could be an impact player coming out of a junior college.
